The protection of the battery body is mainly realized by the battery management system (BMS).
The BMS should comprehensively monitor the battery's operating status, including voltage, current, temperature, state of charge (SOC), etc., and issue an alarm signal in case of failure. The BMS should have functions such as overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, overcurrent protection, overtemperature protection and DC insulation monitoring.
The protection configuration of power conversion system (PCS) is mainly divided into four parts.
1. Ontology protection
Monitor power module overcurrent, power module overtemperature, and power module drive failure.
2. DC side protection
Monitors DC overvoltage/undervoltage protection, DC overcurrent protection, and DC input reverse connection protection.
3. AC test protection
AC overvoltage/undervoltage protection, AC overcurrent protection, frequency abnormality protection, AC phase sequence error protection, grid voltage unbalance protection, output DC component exceeding the standard protection, output DC harmonic exceeding the standard protection, and anti-islanding protection.
4. Other protection
Cooling system fault protection, communication fault protection.
