1. Overcharge and over-discharge protection

Overcharge and over-discharge protection is to protect against overcharge and over-discharge that may occur during the battery charging and discharging process, to ensure that the battery does not overcharge and over-discharge, to ensure battery life and safety, and is a basic function of battery safety protection.

By real-time monitoring of the highest cell voltage or SOC, when the cell voltage or battery SOC reaches the specified upper limit, the corresponding safety protection is activated and charging is stopped; when the lowest cell voltage or battery SOC reaches the specified lower limit, discharging is stopped.

2. Overcurrent protection

Overcurrent protection refers to the protection against overcurrent that may occur during the battery charging and discharging process to ensure battery life and safety.

By real-time monitoring of the current in the high-voltage circuit, if the current exceeds the specified threshold, the corresponding safety protection is activated to limit the current of the high-voltage circuit.

3. Over-temperature protection

Over-temperature protection refers to providing temperature monitoring for battery cells, modules, and high-voltage connections. When the temperature exceeds the limit, the corresponding protection measures are activated. Ensure that the battery will not cause thermal runaway due to excessive temperature to ensure safety.

4. Thermal management protection

Thermal management is a protection function that heats or cools the battery system according to the thermal management strategy to improve the environmental adaptability and working condition adaptability of the battery system.

When the battery system needs to be heated or cooled, the BMS starts thermal management or sends a thermal management request to the EMS through the BMS to ensure that the power battery operates within a suitable temperature range to ensure battery life and safety.
